No school on Monday, February 15th for President's Day!
I hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day and a good long weekend. Thank you for all returning the field trip permission slips. This Tuesday I will be sending home SEP conference notes. Please sign these and return back as soon as possible to confirm the day and time. SEP week is February 22nd through February 26th. I look forward to meeting with you and giving out report cards.
Thank you, Becky VanLehn, Laurie Caldwell, and Laura Lewis for putting together our Valentine's Party. The students had so much fun! Also, thank you Amber Langston and her mom for coming on Friday and making Valentines with the students. Our contest winners for the best Valentines boxes were Halli and Nathan! Close runner-ups were Kamryn, Kinzie, Philip, and Dainian. Good job guys! The students had a lot of fun with this!
Our Big Kahuna this week is Dainian!
Writing: I will be putting up the students Expository paragraphs in the hall this week if you want to come and take a look!
Science: This week we will be doing a class science project to get the students familiar with the process and to also get them interested. Our project is "How Many Seeds Do Different Types of Fruit Produce?"
Math: We will be finishing up our math camp on money this week.
This week's math focus is:
- Two-digit addition and subtraction with and without regrouping.
- Estimate the sum of 2 two-digit numbers.
