March 1-5

Thank you parents for coming to SEP Conferences. I love all your support and willingness to help your child in their areas of weakness.

On Friday, the students earned rootbeer floats for 10 weeks of 100% homework! Keep up the good work!

Our Big Kahuna this week is Nathan Lewis! Happy Birthday Nathan and Anthony!

This week is Dr. Seuss week. We have a lot of fun activities including Teacher Swap, Green Eggs and Ham for lunch, pajama day, read-a-thon, and teacher skits.

Also, Wednesday is our 2nd grade field trip. We are going to Tonaquint Nature Park. Students wear your Coral Cliffs shirt and comfortable shoes. If you signed up to bring a sack lunch from home, please do not forget them. We will send reminders home Tuesday for lunches. Don't be late- buses leave at 9:15. We will be learning about animal habitats, butterflies, birds, and gardens!

Writing: Students will be writing a book review persuading other students to read a certain Dr. Seuss book.

Art: Cat in the Hat

Math: Students will finish up Topic 9 and will review and take the test this week. Keep working on double-digit addition and subtraction.

This week's math focus:
  • Solve problems that involve addition and subtraction of two-digit numbers.
  • Identify the appropriate numbers and operation and use them to solve a story problem.
  • Review and Topic 9 Test.
**No homework or spelling will be given out Friday because the following week is Spring Break!
