April 12-16

Last week Kamryn was our Big Kahuna! Thank you, Laurie and Jared Caldwell for coming on Friday and discussing how to rock climb. The kids were really interested and excited that you came! This week our Big Kahuna is Aliyah!

Last week our Astronomy night was a blast! The students had a great time with rotations and using the huge telescopes were their favorite.

This Friday I will be sending home a testing note with homework. We will begin our big end of the year testing on Monday April 26th and could go through May 7th. During these two weeks please do not be absent. If any parents are interested- I would like to have healthy snacks to hand out during test breaks. This might include crackers, vegetables, fruit, string cheese, granola bar, fruit snacks, juice, etc. If you would like to provide snacks one of these days, please send a note with your child and I will make a schedule. Thanks for all your help!

Science: We will continue to learn about the life cycle of a butterfly.

Writing: Final copy of our narrative paragraphs.

Math: Our math camp will continue this week on double-digit addition and subtraction.

This week's math focus:
  • Use and interpret the multiplication sign.
  • Write two multiplication facts to describe an array.
  • Relate multiplication to the area of a rectangle.
  • Solve problems that involve equal groups.
  • Develop and use strategies for multiplication.
