Last week Kamryn was our Big Kahuna! Thank you, Laurie and Jared Caldwell for coming on Friday and discussing how to rock climb. The kids were really interested and excited that you came! This week our Big Kahuna is Aliyah!
Last week our Astronomy night was a blast! The students had a great time with rotations and using the huge telescopes were their favorite.
This Friday I will be sending home a testing note with homework. We will begin our big end of the year testing on Monday April 26th and could go through May 7th. During these two weeks please do not be absent. If any parents are interested- I would like to have healthy snacks to hand out during test breaks. This might include crackers, vegetables, fruit, string cheese, granola bar, fruit snacks, juice, etc. If you would like to provide snacks one of these days, please send a note with your child and I will make a schedule. Thanks for all your help!
Science: We will continue to learn about the life cycle of a butterfly.
Writing: Final copy of our narrative paragraphs.
Math: Our math camp will continue this week on double-digit addition and subtraction.

Fun Times in 2nd Grade
We went on a Nature Walk and learned about different animal habitats.
Don't step on logs; there might be creatures living underneath!
We learned about birds.
We learned about the life cycle of a butterfly.
We also saw a huge garden.

On Friday, the students earned rootbeer floats for 10 weeks of 100% homework! Keep up the good work!
Our Big Kahuna this week is Nathan Lewis! Happy Birthday Nathan and Anthony!
This week is Dr. Seuss week. We have a lot of fun activities including Teacher Swap, Green Eggs and Ham for lunch, pajama day, read-a-thon, and teacher skits.
Also, Wednesday is our 2nd grade field trip. We are going to Tonaquint Nature Park. Students wear your Coral Cliffs shirt and comfortable shoes. If you signed up to bring a sack lunch from home, please do not forget them. We will send reminders home Tuesday for lunches. Don't be late- buses leave at 9:15. We will be learning about animal habitats, butterflies, birds, and gardens!
Writing: Students will be writing a book review persuading other students to read a certain Dr. Seuss book.
Art: Cat in the Hat
